Ives Hill Retirement Community is a not- for- profit corporation governed by a Board of Directors. Construction began in June of 1997 and was completed by 2000. The first phase of construction included the congregate building with 44 apartments and 8 patio homes located on Jewell Drive. The patio homes consist of 5 duplex homes and 3 cottages. These beautiful homes filled quickly and in 2002, it was decided that Ives Hill Retirement Community needed to expand.
Phase II was put into motion in the fall of 2002 with the construction of 7 new duplex homes and 5 cottages on Stone Circle. Stone Circle was named after Eunice Stone, who was the first resident to occupy the congregate building in 1998. The first resident moved in on Stone Circle in June of 2003.
In September 2011 five new duplex homes were completed along Elmore Lane, named after Ed and Ruthbelle Elmore, the first duplex residents to move to Ives Hill in 1998. The new occupants of these Elmore Lane homes began moving in September 2011.
Construction of The Lodge at Ives Hill, an Adirondack style residence, also began Spring 2011. By February 20, 2012, the Lodge was completed, licensed by the Department of Health as an Enriched Housing Facility, and opened its doors to new residents. The Lodge offers more support for those who can no longer live independent, but are not in need of a nursing home.
So if you or someone you know is interested in a single level home set in a safe community, where all maintenance is taken care of including mowing the lawn and shoveling the snow, and where their are many amenities available, please ask them to call Ives Hill!
